Combatting infections using smart coating technology

Combatting infections using smart coating technology

Description:

The materials interfaces chemistry (BIC) research group at the University of Twente offers exciting BSc and MSc thesis opportunities for students eager to contribute to the development of smart coating solutions. We work at the interface of materials, we synthesize and fabricate materials.

  • Your project can focus on using (natural) coating materials in medical devices and biosensors. The devices and sensors are used in the clinic or envisioned for the clinic, to aid patient recovery, to suppress infections and to speed up infection diagnostics in patient samples.
  • Your project can focus on characterization of new coatings and device characterization.

Supervisors:

Pascal Jonkheijm  - p.jonkheijm@utwente.nl

Your work will be in the lab, using advanced equipment in our laboratories.

What you can expect:

Cutting-edge research: Engage in impactful research within a dynamic and supportive team.

Expert guidance: Receive mentorship from experienced researchers in the field of (organic) materials.
