Felix Meesters
Hi, I am Felix, the chairman of the 62nd Board of C.T.S.G. Alembic. I am 20 years old and live on the Campuslaan together with 13 other housemates. I used to live in the beautiful city of Woerden with my parents, but I started studying CSE in Enschede in 2023 and have enjoyed the student life ever since. A lot of my free time goes to the activities that Alembic has to offer. However, I like to spend time with my housemates by playing a (board) game together. Another hobby of mine is cooking, I especially like making stews and pastas. For sports, I like to participate in the Alembic football team, cycle when the weather is nice, go skiing in the winter, and go for a run from time to time.
As a chairman I am end-responsible for the well-being and functioning of the board, chair board meetings and GMAs, and keep contact with the various organizational bodies within the UT. Next to that, I stay in touch with other boards of the UT. Outside of my more official functions, I like to hang around the Alembic rooms for a game of belote or just a casual conversation. If you see me around feel free to approach me and have a quick chat!
With glorious regards,
Felix Meesters
Gerben de Vries
Hi everyone,
I am Gerben and am currently the Secretary of the 62nd Board of C.T.S.G. Alembic. I am 19 years old and live on the Calslaan in a house with 12 people. Before moving to Enschede to study, I lived in Italy and Sweden where I went to an international school. I moved here for the study and nice campus, but quickly becamer and active student due to the people around me. I do my best to join as many Alembic activities as possible, and if I am not there I am playing on the wii with housemates or at activities with my Dispuut. Officially I am signed up at the swimming association Piranha, but can barely remember my last time at a training. Next to this I am part of two IVC football teams, inlcuding Alembics, and accompany my housemates on runs.
As secretary I am at my busiest around the GMA's. Here I am responsible for the submitted pieces, type the minutes during the GMA, and working those minutes out afterwards. When these stressful times have passed, I am still responsible for keeping track of the Boards mail, electronic and physical. I keep our member administration up to date and mail our members when necessary. Schedules and plans are also my responisbility, which also means that I keep the most contact with other study associations. Outside of my secretary tasks, I am currently editor-in-chief of our CaT and am the treasurer of the ONCS(Open Nederlandse Chemische Sportdagen) which will be held in Enschede in 2026.
I am always open to help any of our members with their problems, unless I am in the middle of a belote game in the members room, and hope to see all of you around.
With glorious Regards
Gerben de Vries
Marleen van den Berg
Hi! I am Marleen van den Berg, the treasurer or C.T.S.G. Alembic. I am 19 and live near the city center of Enschede for the past two years now. Next to joining Alembic activities I also enjoy hanging out with friends, going for a walk outside, discovering new places and playing soccer at V.V. Drienerlo.
Over the past two years I have been active at Alembic by joining activities and being part of 4 different committees. Furthermore, I am now also part of the committee organizing the ONCS (Open Nederlandse Chemische Sportdagen) for 2026. By being part of these committees I figured out I enjoy organizing activities just as much as attending activities.
This year as treasurer of Alembic I am in charge of everything regarding the finances of Alembic. I take care of committee finances, paying declarations, making sure you can purchase tosti’s and other snacks, and paying all the fun ideas the members and the board come up with.
I am always open to have a chat with you and feel free to walk into board room (where you will find me often) if you have any questions or just want to talk. I hope to see you around at Alembic!
With glorious regards,
Marleen van den Berg
Ilse Alfrink
Heyy!
I’m Ilse Alfrink, and I’ll be this year’s Commissioner of External Affairs! This means that I spend most of my time calling and mailing companies to organize career activities. These activities can range from a lunch lecture to a company fair. Besides contacting companies myself, I also chair the Career Orientation Committee (COCo) as a part of a function. As the COCo, we reach out to new companies that do not have an existing connection with Alembic and try to create one.
To tell you a little bit about myself, I’m 21 years old and from the beautiful Deventer. In my free time, I love to read (though finding the time can be tricky), bake, cook, and watch series. I always played hockey, though I have stopped the past year. I do still like to follow hockey and other sports in my free time. I also love to play games, 30 seconds and codenames are one of my favourites. And being at Alembic, you of course cannot escape playing a game (or multiple) of belote.
I hope this gives you a little insight into who I am and what I do, and I can’t wait to see you around at Alembic!
With Glorious regards,
Ilse Alfrink
Jana Kalvodová
Heey everyone!
My name is Jana, and I am the Commissioner of Educational Affairs of the 62nd Board of C.T.S.G. Alembic. As Commissioner of Educational Affairs, you can come to me with anything study-related. It is important for me to stay well informed so I can always help you in the best way possible. Besides being in close contact with students, I also communicate with the programme staff, teachers, research groups and other relevant educational bodies at the university. Furthermore, I want to make sure you have the best study experience possible. Therefore I am in charge of the study books and actively involved in maintaining and improving the quality of our programme. Next to my everyday tasks, I keep myself busy with my policy points. These involve pre-master and exchange students integration, career opportunities and integration with the research groups, organizing more education related activities, high school outreach programme, and incorporation of cases and excursions to the CSE programme.
To say a little bit about me, I am 21 years old and currently in my 3rd year of the CSE Bachelor at UT. I grew up in a small town next to the second largest city of the Czech Republic. As a kid, I spent most of my time outside, running through the forest or playing at the playground. Nothing has really changed since then. I still love spending time outside. I really enjoy hiking, mountainbiking, canoeing and playing softball.
Hopefully this gives you some insight into who I am and what my function entails. See you around!
With glorious regards,
Jana Kalvodová
Nina Geurtsen
Hey hey, I'm Nina, the Commissioner of Internal Affairs of the 62nd Board of C.T.S.G. Alembic! I am 19 years old and a local from the beautiful city of Enschede. I currently live on campus with 10 other fun housemates. I started studying CSE in 2023 and became active at Alembic the year after. I really enjoyed participating and organizing activities of Alembic, which is also part of the reason I applied to become a Board member the year after! In my free time I like to play games with my friends, reading (My favorite genre is fantasy!), and playing softball. I also have a big sweet tooth, and you can always wake me up in the middle of the night for some snacks. I am also part of the dispuut Quenouille, with whom I borrel with every other wednesday in the Friends.
Being the Commissioner of Internal Affairs means that I am in charge of most of the committees and making sure that they organise fun activities! In addition to that, I also organise TNW integration activities with the other internals, such as the TNW Cantus and the TNW Wintermarket. I am also the Mental Health Representative of Alembic, which means I am in contact with the programe staff about the mental wellbeing of the general members.
Being the Internal Affairs also means that I am the face of the association, so if you have any questions about Alembic, feel free to ask!
