Education

Education is a key component of inspiration for the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. Graduates in Chemical Science and Engineering can combine their technical expertise with teaching skill to communicate their experience further and become a mentor to the younger generations.

The most common career paths are:

High schools
Teach chemistry and/or mathematics at high school. Inspire students through classroom teaching, laboratory activities, and project-based learning.
Higher education (University/HBO)
Teach and supervise students at universities or universities of applied sciences. Teaching is often combined with student mentoring, programme coordination or academic research.
Curriculum development
Design and improve educational programmes, laboratory courses, teaching materials, and digital learning resources for schools, universities, and professional organisations. Based on the system of our university, you can imagine being a Programme Coordinator, Programme Director, Programme Manager, etc.
Outreach & public engagement
Organise workshops, demonstrations, competitions, and science events that encourage young people to explore careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and increase public understanding of science.
