“I know you’re not supposed to question stuff, but I’m confused.” – Aang
I’m talking about the Integration Activity where you mingle with kiddos from other do-groups and play party games together, The Practical Game, in which you use your chemistry pre-knowledge to help invent a new car fuel, and The Case, THE mysterious activity, so secret I sadly can’t tell you anything about it…
That’s a nice little summary of the quizmaster function here at the KIKSTart, but let’s talk about me now. I come from Slovakia, from a little village. I attended a boarding school in Banská Štiavnica though, and so that is the place I spent most of my youth in. My friends and I loved to do all sorts of fun unique activities during these coming-of-age times. I guess that’s where my game-planning skills originate from.
However, it wasn’t all fun and games all the time. During my studies, I worked hard and focused on the subjects I liked the most; mathematics, physics, and chemistry. I always loved sustainability and hoped to be part of “the transition” someday. And so I chose the degree, that I believed was the most helpful in the fight against the climate crisis.
But before I officially started my higher education in CSE, I joined the Kick-In festivals, which I enjoyed greatly. Apart from all the fun I had, I got to meet the most amazing people, with whom I hang out until today. I got to chance to do-group parent with them last year’s Kick-In, and as expected it was a blast.
And that’s about it, and me.
So, get hyped! I really hope you enjoy every moment of the kick-in at least as much as we have while planning part of it for you.
All the best,
Martin Matej
