ChemiSTree

Hi everyone!

We are Tiemen, Roel, Japie/Daan (the guys’ official name is Daan but everybody calls him Japie, weird, we know), Marit, Julian and Rianne and we are six Dutch students of the Bachelor of Chemical Science and Engineering! Well, 2 of us are. The rest used to be, because at the time you’re reading this, some have already finished their Bachelor’s. Yes, we know we’re old (our walking sticks have been ordered already) but it also means that we do know exactly how to get through these three years with the best tips and tricks 😉

Although our do-group video is absolutely perfect, we will still tell a bit more about ourselves, particularly how we know each other. We’re not called ChemiSTree for nothing of course! Our family tree starts with Japie, who was a do group parent in 2020 (yes, that long ago) of Tiemen and Rianne, who then went on to form a do group in 2021 together with Julian. During that year, Marit was also a do group parent, Roel being her kiddo. Do you still follow?

This year we decided to form a do group once again, most of us participating in the Kick-In for the third or even fourth time! It really is just that much fun. What do we have to offer you, let’s see. Well, we know the study and the program of the Bachelor pretty well (duh) and we are all active within the study association Alembic (from draining Alembic from coffee and/or tea to being one of the board members of upcoming year), so we can teach you everything we have learned over the past few years.

What are we looking for you ask? Student that share our childish/student-like enthusiasm. We are planning on joining a lot of activities, including some awesome parties. The activity we’re looking most forward to is the Bestorming of the Bastille, because there is no better way to get to know each other than by running through mud together. So if you would like to get to know us better and are prepared to join lots of activities this upcoming week, make sure to place us in your top three (preferably number one, thanks)!
