“MY CABBAGGESS!!!” – The Cabbage Merchant
You will see a couple of logos/advertisements on your royal blue polos, or the extremely entertaining daily newspapers, maybe even on the highly informative booklets, or on some drippy merch. Those could be some potential companies or research groups you get to work with in the near future, so if it piques your interest look them up for more information!
Now all the work stuff aside, here is a little about me. I was born and raised in the UAE (for all the uncultured, Dubai…) but I am originally from India. I am a music enthusiast, I play the guitar and therefore by extension the ukelele (I’m aware that’s cheating, but let me have it) and am also a professionally trained singer. In my free time, I really enjoy sleeping but life is all about balance and so I try and keep myself active by doing a few of my favourite sports like basketball, table tennis and badminton. In high school, I thoroughly enjoyed science and therefore chose all sciences, math and art (the last choice was a bit random but I am also quite artsy) additionally, I was an active student and partook in many student activities. These interests led to me picking Chemical Science and Engineering at the UT and also opting to be an active member of the Alembic study association to utilize my creative side.
I can imagine transitioning into university life can seem daunting, and even worse if you are moving from a completely different country. But fear not, we, the KIKSTART are here to try and give you a soft landing not only to the university but also into the CSE course. I myself have been a part of kick-in not once but TWICE and have enjoyed every single minute, made friends for a lifetime, and created core memories and I am certain that you will too, be in your element!
