Christmas Market in Dortmund
Visiting Christmas markets is always the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. This year, Intercom organised a trip to the Christmas market in Dortmund, home to the world’s largest Christmas tree. Spread throughout the city centre, the market invited us to wander freely rather than stay in one place, making the experience even more enjoyable. Decorated stalls, warm fairy lights, and the sweet smell of candied nuts created a truly cosy atmosphere.
Time passed quickly as we explored the stalls, each offering something different, from handicrafts and candles to a wide variety of German delicacies. At any German Christmas market, bratwurst and Glühwein are a must. Stopping at a stall to warm ourselves with a hot drink felt especially special with the brightly lit Christmas tree towering in the background.
What made the trip truly memorable was experiencing it together. Simple moments, such as discovering a beautifully decorated stall or standing side by side with a warm cup in hand, made the evening feel relaxed and meaningful. By the end of the visit, we were all quite exhausted from the walking, but we returned with full Christmas spirit and a one-of-a-kind Christmas market mug as a souvenir!
